Imago LABS behaviour analysts design individualized programs for each client based on assessment results. After developing a program plan and gathering all necessary materials, the behaviour analyst and/or program manager trains parents and other team members (e.g., behaviour interventionists, school staff) to implement the intervention.
Intervention takes place at our Burnaby clinic or online via teletherapy. Our staff occasionally work off-site at schools and daycares to conduct observations, meetings, or to train school/daycare staff. Currently, our team members do not provide assessment, training, and intervention in homes. However, we are open to discussing alternative ways to arrange these tasks.
The suggested number of hours of direct treatment per week is 10-40, dependent on client goals (see page 25 of the BACB’s “Applied Behavior Analysis Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder: Practice Guidelines for Healthcare Funders and Managers”). The exact number of hours of intervention will depend on your consultant’s recommendation, family availability, resources, and other factors.
Regular overlaps (i.e., when the behaviour analyst or program manager attends a regularly scheduled intervention session) and team meetings are scheduled so that consultants can explain and demonstrate new programs, provide opportunities to practice the teaching skill, deliver feedback to team members, discuss child progress, and address any issues that may arise.
